from the yard light to the back quarter

The shop sits off Quarterline Road in Kestrel County, so the acreage callouts other outfits treat as a long drive are the roads we live on. Farm power is its own kind of electrical work: long underground runs, hard weather, machinery that can’t sit dead in season. It gets planned like it matters, because out here it does.

  • 2.1Yard & security lighting
  • 2.2Barns & outbuildings
  • 2.3Shop panels & welder plugs
  • 2.4Trenched underground service

Power problems don’t keep business hours. The cell’s printed on the card for a reason: office 403-555-0118, cell 403-555-0119.
PLATE Nº 3 · THE CREW

Dale, Cody & the light in the yard.

The story starts with two electricians pulling wire together on the neighbours’ acreages. Dale made it official with a truck, a ladder rack and a business card; today he and Cody run Yardlight Electric Ltd. as a crew of two.

The work has changed shape over the years: spec housing, custom homes, commercial shops, retail floors, farmyards. The way it’s done hasn’t: show up on time, do it right the first time, charge a fair rate.

(The name? Every farm out here has one light that stays on all night. We wire a lot of them.)

PLATE Nº 4 · THE PAPERWORK

Done by the book.

The dull part, handled, so the job passes the first time.

PERMITS & INSPECTIONS

We pull the permit

Permits pulled and inspections booked, so the paperwork is done when the work is.

WORKMANSHIP

We come back

If something we installed acts up, call the cell. We come back and make it right.

PLATE Nº 5 · THE NEIGHBOURS

Word travels down a gravel road.

Showed up when they said, fixed the yard light, and left the shop tidier than they found it.
