One idea per site.

Every site we make starts the same way: find the one idea only that business could own, and build everything around it.
Name, mark, voice, then the site.

A good website isn't a template with a logo on it. It's one idea, carried all the way through.

Before we touch a layout we look for the thing only this business could say: where it is, who walks in, what it's known for, what makes the regulars laugh.

Three ideas, three sites.

Bun Voyage is a bakery a few steps from a ferry. So the homepage is a boarding pass: you're the passenger, the gate is the counter, and the seat is the window, obviously.

The Herring is a fish market. So it reads like the morning paper. The catch is the headline, and the gull gets a quote.

Plumb Lucky is a Calgary plumber with a lucky streak. So it's a doodle zine, with a clover on the van and a lucky fact on every page.

Then the name, the mark and the voice.

Once the idea is clear, the rest follows from it: a name worth saying out loud, a mark that works on a van and on a cup, and words that sound like the owner talking. The site is where it all comes together.

These three are businesses we made up, so we could show the whole process. Yours starts with the real one.
